James Tehrani, copy desk chief at Workforce Management, was honored earlier this month for his headline writing by the American Copy Editors Society at its 16th annual conference in New Orleans.

Tehrani won for his submission of five Workforce Management headlines, including The Yawning of a New Era, a story on employee fatigue, and Workers Hold Their Breath But Employers Worry They'll Take a Hit, a piece on medical marijuana and the workplace.

"James has consistently demonstrated a creative way to draw readers into stories with his snappy headlines. The winners were just the tip of the iceberg," says managing editor Rick Bell.

Tehrani joined Workforce in 2010 after a four-year stint as copy editor for sister publication Modern Healthcare.
